27 to October 30, Guayaquil will host the 2nd Meeting Latin American Documentary XXI century is organized by the Ministry of Culture, through the National Film Board (CNCINE).


This meeting will be attended by 120 librarians from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, Haiti, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela, Spain and Portugal.

In this second approach for information professionals talks on the circulation of audiovisual content in general, understanding that this problem applies equally to all film genres, including documentaries.


The mechanics of the meeting is defined by working groups organized around the central theme. These tables deal with other sub-themes, such as networking noncommercial traffic, but also the enactment of regulations to ensure and encourage commercial traffic in both documentary content and television rooms.


Another issue to address is the new role of film societies and other public training methods, the role of the internet and new technologies, the role of the EU audiovisual: the community television and the public national and regional television in the circulation of audiovisual content, as well as aspects to define a form of activism audiovisual for the creation of a continental audiovisual citizenship.


The agreements reached at the meeting will serve to promote state policies in the countries of the region for the support and promotion of documentary films, and forming new links working on the mainland between different generations of filmmakers.
